My Lender Is Taking Too Much Time
Manuel in Jacksonville, Florida asks:
I received a letter from my lender stating that they will be starting a foreclosure unless I pay them nearly $15,000 by August 15th. I have applied for a modification and have been waiting for an answer from them since January. Each time I call they tell me I need to resend something else, which is usually a document that I have sent multiple times. I do not want to lose my home but I don’t know what to do at this point. Can you help?
Answer
Your situation is not uncommon. We have heard the same thing countless times from homeowners. If you qualify for a modification we will ensure that the lender complies with the Treasury’s HAMP guidelines and stop any possible foreclosure while your modification is processed.
