Can I Re-apply If My Bank Denied My Loan Modification?
Juan in Tampa, Florida asks:
I applied for a modification with my lender and was rejected. They did not give me a reason as to why but I cannot afford my payment and do not want to lose my home. Can I re-apply or can you help me?
Answer
The Treasury has imposed regulations this year obligating lenders to disclose the reasons of denial. Unless you were granted a final modification and defaulted on the first three trial payments, we can re-apply on your behalf if in fact you meet the guidelines.
